From the President
Greetings FFCA Cousins!
I think you’ll enjoy the upcoming issue of the Pot & Puma.
Those of you that attended Reunion 2007 will recognize
the author of our feature story. Allen Manuel is one of
the most knowledgeable collectors of Frankoma salt and
pepper shakers in FFCA. His discussion of mold
variations reminds us of the subtle differences in the
molds created by Frankoma Pottery through the years. His
session at Reunion 2007 was really a treat to attend.
Also included in this issue are your registration forms
for Reunion 2008,
scheduled for September 25-27, 2008.
Speaking of Reunion
2008, we’ll be gathering again at Freddie’s
Pavilion, located on Historic Route 66, in Sapulpa,
Oklahoma, home of Frankoma Pottery. The reunion
committee has planned a number of activities including
the always popular Thursday evening Collectors
Roundtable, factory tour of Frankoma Pottery, noon and
evening Scholarship Auctions, and Saturday’s Show
& Sell. We’ll also have educational seminars by
many of the top Frankoma experts across the nation. Our
Scholarship Auctions, Collectors Roundtable, and
Show & Sell provide members the opportunity to
purchase that special item from the largest selection of
Frankoma pottery assembled in one place.
We know the cost of fuel has impacted all of you
tremendously, whether you fly or drive to Sapulpa. Your
Board of Directors has tried very hard this year to give
Reunion attendees the most value for your money.
We've done our best to minimize price increases for all
our events, and are working toward acquiring some unique
door prizes and giveaway items for those in attendance.
As in past years, FFCA is having a special edition piece
produced just for members. To celebrate our Native
American heritage, and the 75th anniversary of Frankoma
Pottery, we’ve chosen to produce a limited number of the
large Chief Masks from the early Norman years of
1933-1934. This mask was done for a very short time,
and has always been a favorite of mine.
Join us in Sapulpa this September as we celebrate the
legacy started 75 years ago by John and Grace Lee
Frank.
If you have any questions or comments, feel free to
write us.

Commemorative
2008
A Limited Edition of the Large Chief Mask (1934-1935)
has been selected as this year’s
Commemorative 2008. This piece was made for a very
short time during the Norman era. It symbolizes
Oklahoma’s rich Native American heritage, so often
interpreted in early art pieces created by John Frank.
Master mold maker Lacy Green has agreed to produce the
mold for this piece and longtime Frankoma Manager Kandy
Steeples will oversee production and glazing. We think
you will be pleased with the collaboration of these two
Frankoma experts.
The member’s only Limited Edition of the Large Chief
Mask (1934-1935) will be offered in one glaze only: New
Prairie Green and will sell for $27.50 each. Don’t miss
this chance to order now!

Reunion
2007
Greetings FFCA Cousins!
Reunion 2007 is now just a few short days away.
Registrations have been coming in steadily, and it looks
like we will have a good attendance this year at all
events. Response has been really strong for the
Collectors Roundtable, Scholarship Auctions, and the
Show & Sell, which means lots of Frankoma Pottery
available throughout the reunion!
See the link for a partial
list of Scholarship Auction items committed to date.
Some great pieces have already been consigned, with more
to come by reunion time. Advance orders for the
Centennial Commemorative
are arriving daily, so don’t delay in reserving yours
with Nancy. I know you will be pleased with this
special limited edition piece!
Your Board of Directors has worked very hard this year to
make Reunion a memorable one. We’re excited to bring
you some new seminars with expert presenters. Off site
events at the Frank Home, Frankoma Pottery, and the
Sapulpa Historical Society will provide attendees lots
of options throughout the reunion. Frankoma has a rich
history in the city of Sapulpa, and each of these venues
showcases it in their own special way.
Travel safely, and we’ll see you in Sapulpa on Historic
Route 66, as we celebrate FFCA’s 13th Reunion
and Oklahoma’s Centennial.
Randy McFarlin, President FFCA

Commemorative
2007
In celebration of Oklahoma's Centennial in 2007,
Frankoma has produced for FFCA a variation of the
popular 1957 Tulsarama Semi Centennial ashtray. This
piece appropriately showcases our Cowboy, Native
American, and Oil histories. We're excited about this
special Centennial member’s only piece, and we think you
will be too. (See
Commemorative 2007
online for photos and ordering information!) The
Oklahoma Centennial Trays are offered in 2 glazes: New
Prairie Green and Prairie Gold, and will sell for $35
each. Don’t’ wait or you will miss out!

July 16, 2007
Greetings FFCA Cousins! I’d like to take this opportunity to update you on some
exciting things happening in your organization. The
finishing touches are being put on the next issue of the
Pot & Puma, reunion planning is well
underway, and the scholarship committee is in the
process of updating student application guidelines to
assure the best use of your scholarship funds.
Speaking of the reunion, be sure to mark your calendars
for September 20-22, 2007. We’ll be gathering
again at Freddie’s Pavilion, located on Historic Route
66, in Sapulpa, Oklahoma, home of Frankoma Pottery. The
reunion committee has planned a number of activities
including a BBQ luncheon and factory tour at Frankoma
Pottery, and a visit to the Sapulpa Historical Museum.
We’ll also have educational seminars by many of the top
Frankoma experts across the nation. Our Scholarship
Auction, Collectors Roundtable, and Show & Sell provide
members the opportunity to purchase that special item
from the largest selection of Frankoma pottery assembled
in one place.
As many of you may know, Oklahoma is celebrating its
Centennial year in 2007. Activities and events are
scheduled in communities across Oklahoma throughout the
year. As you plan your journey to Sapulpa for the 2007
reunion, you may want to visit
www.oklahomacentennial.com, check out other events,
and take in some Oklahoma hospitality on your way.
Frankoma Pottery is producing a number of special pieces
for the Oklahoma Centennial. You can find these pieces
on the Centennial website, and on the Frankoma factory
website. I’m also pleased to announce the 2007 FFCA
Commemorative will have a special Centennial theme! I
think you’ll be pleased with this member’s only piece.
2007
FFCA reunion registration materials should be mailed
late July, and be on the FFCA website as well. Join us
in Sapulpa this September as we celebrate Oklahoma’s
Centennial year and another great FFCA gathering.
